Welcome to the Harwinton Soap Company! All of our products are handcrafted here in Harwinton, Connecticut using only high quality, responsibly sourced ingredients.We proudly support the tradition of small, independently run family farms and businesses. That’s why the signature ingredients in all of our soaps are sourced locally or come from our own land.

 Our Soaps

  We make real soap. That might seem like an obvious statement, but it’s worth saying. The truth is: many of the commercial “soap” brands found at your local supermarket are not really soaps at all. They are detergents made from a harsh blend of synthetic ingredients. Some contain harmful chemicals ranging from skin irritants to known human carcinogens. When these industrial cleaning products are washed down the drain, they are a serious pollutant in our rivers and streams.

  That’s not what we wanted for our family, or the world we live in. So we began making our own natural, safe and effective alternative. Our soaps are made with organic ingredients and scented with therapeutic grade essential oils. We use a blend of olive oil, coconut oil, shea butter, cocoa butter and beeswax as the base for our soap. Our soaps contain no parabens, phthlates, sulfates, or petrochemicals.We avoid the use of palm oil due to the negative environmental practices employed by that industry. 

 Our fragrances have been specially chosen to celebrate the New England landscape, culture and heritage. All of our soaps are 4 oz. bars and are available à la carte or in boxed gift sets. Our Honey

Our raw organic wildflower honey comes from our own apiary. The nectar is derived from our gardens and pine trees, as well as neighboring apple orchards, pumpkin and strawberry fields. The honey is shipped in a collectible glass bottle with cork stopper.

Woodcut Prints

We pride ourselves on creating unique packaging design and illustration for our soaps. The Motif for each fragrance is available as an authentic handmade woodblock print. These prints are exquisitely carved from Cherry wood and pulled by hand using traditional methods. Each 9”x12” print is on 45gsm Neutral pH Mulberry print making paper. Live image area fits 8”x10” frame opening. Each print is numbered and signed by the artist.  Due to the woodblock printing process, each one will vary slightly. Prints are shipped unframed, flat packed in protective plastic sleeve.
