Soaps
We make real soap. That might seem like an obvious statement, but it’s worth saying. The truth is: many of the commercial “soap” brands found at your local supermarket are not really soaps at all. They are detergents made from a harsh blend of synthetic ingredients. Some contain harmful chemicals ranging from skin irritants to known human carcinogens. When these industrial cleaning products are washed down the drain, they are a serious pollutant in our rivers and streams.
That’s not what we wanted for our family, or the world we live in. So we began making our own natural, safe and effective alternative. Our soaps are made with organic ingredients and scented with therapeutic grade essential oils. We use a blend of olive oil, coconut oil, shea butter, cocoa butter and beeswax as the base for our soap. Our soaps contain no parabens, phthlates, sulfates, or petrochemicals. We avoid the use of palm oil due to the negative environmental practices employed by that industry.
Our fragrances have been specially chosen to celebrate the New England landscape, culture and heritage. All of our soaps are 4 oz. bars and are available à la carte or in boxed gift sets. Our boxed sets are “mix and match” according to your order. Sign up for our newsletter and check back often to find out about new seasonal releases and special promotions.
Lavender Goat Milk 4 oz. Bar Soap
Lavender Goat Milk 4 oz. Bar Soap
English Settlers brought goats to New England for their milk in the early 1600’s. This was a life-sustaining staple before dairy cows arrived. Today, goat farming remains a vibrant part of Connecticut culture. In fact, Connecticut is one of only a handful of states that support the sale of raw milk, a critical boon for small family run farms.
The health benefits of goat milk for the skin have been known for centuries. Goat milk is full of essential nutrients and vitamins that are as healthy for the outside of our bodies as the inside. Through modern science, we now understand that goat milk contains Alpha-hydroxy acids; important for removing dead skin cells and making skin look more youthful. Lavender oil is a perfect pairing with goat milk for skin care products. Its therapeutic properties have been used by a variety of cultures throughout recorded history. Lavender was one of the five essential herbs found in colonial New England gardens. It was often used to scent clothing and even hair. Lavender has long been used for medicinal purposes as well. It’s an antiseptic and anti-inflammatory agent, capable of helping your skin heal from burns, eczema and psoriasis.
